Isobel: Captain

Hello, my name is Isobel. I have been at Woods since I was 4. I love it but my year is not over yet, I still have duties to do as House Captain.

I think that I am well suited for this role because I am kind to my peers, staff members and friends. I respect everyone by listening, holding the door open for them and regularly compliment them. I show the value of patience most of the time because when the teacher asks us to be quiet, I am and will wait for others to be ready to learn. I am patient when I help the younger children at faith club, I understand that they will need some time to think activities over and the leader always thanks me for helping.

Over the year I have discovered that trying your best and not doubting yourself is a key value to have. If you find something tricky, all you have got to do is persevere. When you persevere and try your best, it brings you a long way and you are glad you have not given up! An example of this has been when I have found my maths really challenging, but I have kept trying and get there in the end.

Fun facts:

· I love dancing and singing, and I am about to perform at the Theatre Royal (05/03/25-09/03/25).

· I am mad about science because you get to do cool experiments.

· I love spending time with my family and friends.

· I love a good adventure.

Amber: Vice-Captain

My name is Amber, and I am the Birch Vice-Captain. I think that I show all of our 6 school values (love, respect, kindness, peace, patience and perseverance) because I have a huge love for learning; I am always engaged and focusing during lessons. This doesn’t stop there as time at home is always spent mastering my homework. Additionally, I care for those around me and always show kindness when possible but also, I recognise kindness around me and regularly make notes of this which go into the basket on the worship table. Peace is sometimes quite tricky, but I am truly getting better at it because I am never usually involved in arguments or conflicts. I am very patient because I know that things take time to get better at, I never rush and I am often the last person to finish their work except for maths. I think that I am always showing perseverance because I try hard in everything I do and it has really paid off – the proof is inside all of my books – as I have done really well in all of my assessments.
