Year R, 1 and 6 from week commencing Monday 1st June
15 May 2020 (by Shaun Hopwell (adminhead))
As you will know, the Government have asked that all schools re-open to specific year groups after half term, which includes Year R, 1 and 6. At the present time we are working to put plans in place to reopen as safely as we are able for our Year R, 1 and 6 from week commencing Monday 1st June.
We will continue provision for our Key Worker and Vulnerable children and at the same time aim to sustain Home School learning for Years 2, 3, 4 and 5.
We are in the very early stages of planning and our aim is always to ensure the safety of our children, staff and the wider community, so I am going to ask initially for some help from you by indicating whether or not your child will be re-joining us in the week commencing Monday 1st June. With regard to attendance the following is extracted from the Government parent guidance:
"We strongly encourage children and young people in the eligible year groups and priority groups to attend, unless they are self-isolating or there are other reasons for absence (such as shielding due to health conditions). Parents will not be fined for non-attendance at this time."
Once we have an idea of numbers, we will be able to share the arrangements with you. If you could email me using firstname.lastname@example.org by 12pm Monday 18th May I would appreciate it. If I do not hear from you, I will work on the basis that your child will be attending.
Please put the words ‘Year 6 OR Year 1 OR Year R Attendance’ followed by your child’s name and class in the subject box and also include your child’s name in the email stating whether you plan to send your Year 6 child in the week commencing Monday 1st June.
